Mounir Ladki awarded annual prestigious award by GTB

London, 2 October 2011 – During a 2 day conference organized by Global Telecom Business in London on 19th and 20th September 2011, Mounir Ladki, MYCOM’s General Manager of Products Business Unit, was one of the top 40 young telecommunication professionals under the age of 40 to be recognized as impressive leader of today and tomorrow within the telecoms industry.

Along with the other winners, Mounir proudly received the award from the hands of Mr. Franco
Bernabe’, Chairman and CEO of Telecom Italia and Chairman of the GSM Association. As one of the winners of this prestigious award for the second year running, Mounir is well aware of the responsibility that this recognition carries. As Mr. Bernabe’ himself put it at the conference:

“We need people like you: young, motivated, professional people who understand the challenges ahead and are willing to take them on.”

According to Mr. Bernabe’ the telecoms industry will be back to the center of the stage of the ICT industry. Leaving aside some degree of concentration that the market may experience and need, the challenge for the industry is to device the right kind of architecture that will put it back in the driving seat and have the right caliber of people who will operate tirelessly to help achieve this goal.

Leveraging on his experience at MYCOM, Mounir also contributed to the works of the conference by addressing the audience with a speech on how operators will have to continue to make heavy network investments over the next few years in response to exponential growth of data traffic. In order to maintain a sustainable business case, operators need to act on two fronts: by reducing the costs and becoming more efficient through HSPA/LTE optimization and IT rationalization as well as by focusing on Quality of Service as a key asset and its revenue differentiation model.
